I may have found a work around for the Flash/Catalina/Safari problem. I re-downloaded the Flash installer from Adobe, selecting the version for Mojave 10.14/Safari. The most updated version shown at Adobe. I then opened the Install Adobe Flash Player app and right-clicked to 'Show Package Contents.' Then I opened the folder 'MacOS' to reveal. At least this should reduce the number of cases of Mac malware disguised as the Flash Player arriving on the Mac. Since macOS 10.15 Catalina in 2019 it has been a requirement for all Mac apps.
